Mesa Drive and Southern Avenue Improvements

This project consisted of widening Mesa Drive between US 60 and Southern Avenue to include three through lanes, raised median, dual left-turn lanes at the intersection with Southern Avenue, storm drain, walls, signals, lighting, and landscaping. Work also included improvements to Southern Avenue east and west of Mesa Drive. Improvements to Southern Avenue include three through lanes in each direction and dual left-turn lanes at the intersection with Mesa Drive. This project involved the widening of a roadway at UPRR crossing and boring 185 feet of 42-inch steel casing under UPRR tracks. Hunter also provided design phase services and helped the City manage the design team through the right-of-way and Bureau of Reclamation Land Acquisition while cost modeling and providing value engineering alternatives to maximize the project funding.
