Roosevelt Water Conservation District Main Canal Project
The most critical part of this project was installing a new radial gate structure in the Main Canal at US60 and RWCD that had to be completed during the RWCD dry-up. Hunter Contracting Co. worked on maintaining the schedule and demanding coordination to be prepared for RWCD's dry-up period. Work included removing the existing radial gate structure, irrigation pipe, irrigation structure, existing concrete canal liner, and concrete pad. A new radial gate structure was constructed, including stop log storage vaults, shotcrete canal liner, manholes, and a turnout structure and gate. Additional work included a retaining wall and reshaping the channel bottom.
