Finger Rock Wash Drainage
Hunter Contracting engaged with Pima County Regional Flood Control District to replace a 48" corrugated metal pipe culvert with a 3-barrel 12'x11' reinforced concrete box culvert under E. Skyline Dr. to provide conveyance of the new 100 year flood, which increased significantly after fires upstream in the watershed. The project also included the relocation of several utilities, including water, sewer, and communications. Skyline Drive was also rebuilt with new pavement, striping, and guardrails and was protected against erosion. The project was completed on an extremely tight budget and schedule, and turned into a project closely resembling a CMAR, with Hunter teams performing plan reviews and aggressively value engineering to ensure the project would come in under the District's budget.
