Heritage District Transportation Improvements

At the heart of downtown Gilbert, this award-winning project modified the intersection of Vaughn Avenue and Gilbert Road to add additional capacity and functionality. Hearne Avenue was completely rebuilt with streetscapes and plaza features, including artistic hardscape, color-changing hanging ring lights, and amenities to promote outdoor ambiance. This project was constructed while two adjacent restaurants and a parking garage were being built. Extensive utility relocations and upgrades were completed with minimal impact to the high volume of vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, shops, and restaurants.
