Zone 2 Water System
This award-winning project included the installation of approximately 18,298 linear feet of 24-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) and 900 linear feet of 30-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) waterline along Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, from 90th Street to Via Linda, just a little more than two miles from the multi-use fields near the Bell Road Offsite Water System project. The transmission line connects to the discharge side of booster pump station 83B and a recently installed 24-inch pipeline at Via Linda. Work also included directional drilling of 920 linear feet of 30-inch HDPE pipe, removal and replacement of AC pavement, traffic control, and public relations. Hunter Contracting Co. developed on-site engineering solutions to complete vertical realignment under an existing box culvert.
