Van Buren and 52nd Street Relief Sewer

The Van Buren and 52nd Street Relief Sewer Project involved constructing a relief sewer across various streets: Polk Street from Loop 202 to 53rd Street, 53rd Street from Polk Street to Van Buren Street, and Van Buren Street from 53rd Street to approximately 850 feet past Galvin Parkway to connect with the Phoenix Zoo sewer. The project included the installation of around 5,000 linear feet (LF) of 12-inch diameter sanitary sewer line and 500 LF of 8-inch sewer line. It also required the abandonment of approximately 3,250 LF of 8-inch sewer line and 250 LF of 10-inch sewer line, the installation of approximately 1,070 LF of 36-inch storm drain main, 25 sewer manholes, 8 storm drain manholes, and the bypass and replacement of a section of the existing 10-inch sewer line. Additionally, it included grout-fill abandonment of 4,300 LF of the existing sewer.
