Ditch Lining
William R. Hunter started putting in concrete lined ditches in 1947, in conjunction with Fuller Form. Later, in 1948, Mr. Hunter purchased a franchise for the East Valley and started his own company. In those days an oversized plow was used as a bulldozer, and concrete was $5.00 per cubic yard. Since then, the technologies of electronic grade control and trenching have been added.
The purchase in 1961 of Hunter Ditch Lining preceeded the founding of Hunter Contracting Co. Hunter Ditch Lining continues today, run by Mr. Max Taddei, installing ditches for farmers, contractors, developers and governmental agencies. It is still a healthy business and accounts for about one percent of total construction volume.
