Con-Arch
Con-Arch, a reinforced concrete arch system, is a Design/Build product of Hunter Contracting Co. Applications include bridges, culverts, vaults and reservoirs, storm drains, cut and cover tunnels, underpasses and environmentally sensitive crossings. The Con-Arch system has been completed on hundreds of locations for public and private sector clients throughout the Southwest United States.
Benefits of the Con-Arch system include cost savings, enhanced aesthetics, timesaving, improved hydraulic properties, safety/serviceability, and Design/Build convenience. Con-Arch installations are completed through an integrated Design/Build process. Our engineers work closely with our estimators and operations department to provide a seamless transition from design through completed construction. Finite element methods employing the latest in computer modeling techniques are used to analyze every Con-Arch design. These techniques, applied to a soil structure interaction model, are used to develop efficient, cost effective concrete and shotcrete arch structural sections. Con-Arch structures work in conjunction with surrounding soil to carry imposed loads. The rigid concrete arch provides the most efficient section possible for small or large span structures.
