History
Hunter Contracting Co. was founded in 1961 by Armando Taddei
as a road building company. Through the years the company
has grown to include all phases of highway work including bridges,
pipeline,
curb, gutter and sidewalk, parks and sports fields. Additionally,
the company offers a specialty niche in concrete arch bridge construction
(Con-Arch) and concrete irrigation ditches. In 1993, Hunter
opened
a Tucson office to better serve the needs of that market.
The company expanded into the industrial arena in 1989, which now
includes the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants,
reclamation plants, lift and pump stations, recharge facilities and
underground and process pipelines.
Throughout the years, this family-owned company has maintained an
emphasis on excellence of construction and dependable, efficient and
high-quality workmanship, creating projects that have resulted in long-term
relationships of trust with our many clients. These clients include
city, state, county and tribal governments, land developers, commercial
contractors, and electric and water utility companies in the Phoenix,
Tucson and the Southern California markets. We use the Hard Bid, CM@Risk,
JOC and Design Build delivery methods to acquire our work.
We invite you to view our complete web site which includes photos
of some of our past projects, many having won awards, and photos of
projects currently under construction.
The words integrity, safety, honesty, accountability, respect, and
employee well-being are just a few of the words that can be used to
describe Hunter Contracting Co.’s culture, work ethic and type
of environment offered to our employees. Our mission is to be the “Contractor
of Choice” for our employees, our customers, and our business
partners. Our philosophy has proven to be effective as demonstrated by our growth from a company employing fewer than a dozen people in 1961 to our booming enterprise of over 500 people today.
