About Hunter Contracting Co.

In 1947, William R. Hunter began constructing concrete lined ditches for farmers across the East Valley and he formed Hunter Ditch Lining (HDL) a year later. Armando Taddei joined HDL and after a few years of working for the company, Mr. Taddei purchased HDL in 1961. The same year, Mr. Taddei founded Hunter Contracting Co (Hunter). The company is currently led by Max Taddei, Chairman of the Board, and Amy Ostwinkle, Corporate Secretary, as the third generation of the Taddei family to lead Hunter.

Although Hunter originally began as a heavy construction company specializing in roads and highways, the business has expanded to include all phases of transportation construction, water and wastewater management, mine reclamation, and parks, sports fields and public art installation. Hunter continued to grow by opening a second office in Tucson, as well as acquiring a revolutionary product known as "Con-Arch™". Con-Arch has made it possible for Hunter to construct concrete arches, substituting for box culverts, at reduced cost while offering improved aesthetics and increased structural integrity.

At Hunter, our primary focus is on our responsibility to our community. We have been an integral part of growth in the Southwest, and we continue to work closely with public and private owners in developing strategies and solutions that address the ongoing changes in the construction industry.

With Hunter Contracting Co as your contractor, you can expect an outstanding project experience, open communication, great relationships, and positive results.

Industry Involvement

Hunter's employees actively improve their skills and grow their knowledge through involvement in local, state, and national professional organizations. We participate in these forums, groups, and conferences both company-wide and as individuals. Our participation in these professional associations keeps Hunter’s employees at the forefront of new technologies and processes, and provides continuing opportunities for Hunter to influence the construction industry within our community.
